Tactical Wealth Planning
What you are missing without being tactical with your money
What is Tactical Wealth?
Sometimes you find your self in comparison mode to others in relation to the perception and overall state of someone else’s finances. Asking “what do they do for a living” or even “how are they invested”. Now I do not recommend this being something to constantly do as a really nice car is not the definition of success, but there are sometimes a lot we can learn from others when it comes to success, especially if they have made mistakes that they can share.
There are three potential paths to how success in personal finances is acheived. One route is that person/family got lucky or had large inheritence of some kind (something we should not count on). Second, they had a different approach to how they invested and handled their money. One that varied from the traditional approaches. Third, they made small, impactful, and strategic moves with their finances consistently throughout their careers or business ventures. Key words there, are consistent and strategic.
The second and third points above are what I refer to as, Tactical Wealth. Sometimes it does not take a whole lot of money to render success, it more often results from tactical moves that do not get considered or passed along from traditional advice or methods. Unfortunately this lack of perspective of Tactical Wealth, is where a lot of hard working individuals and families settle into and it becomes a constant circle of percieved animosity towards successful people and loss of confidence in one self that they too can be successful. Which then leads to looking for the “get rich quick” schemes and making the wrong investments, while blaming others or advisors for lack of performance.
Some of the most successful and financially independent people typically have one of two things in common, more often both.
They partner with a trusted financial advisor or wealth manager to highlight these tactical wealth moves they can make. Call it, highlighting your financial blind spots. Sure you can do it yourself, teams are just more powerful and successful.
Lets be honest this second one is no surprise. They own and operate a successful business. Owning businesses can lead to a great deal of success and financial security. But it does carry a lot of risk……more on this in another post. (Hint: the tax code as it currently is written, favors small businesses)
Perspective and The Wrong Advisor
Financial advisors sometimes have the wrong perception attached to them, it is something that can spark up a lot of conterversial opinons. “Why pay someone for financial advice when I can do it myself, through Index funds?” Or, “I pay you X% per year, why are not not beating the market”.
If you have ever had those thoughts, most likely you are that hard working person that has compared themselves to someone successful, and feel you are not making much progress personally with limited benefit from an advisor. In addition, you probably have received blanketed “traditional advice” because it was cheap or you saw some trend in the copious amounts of financial news articles out there. But in reality you never truly got Tactical with your finances or partnered with an advisor to help you do that. The more likely outcome is you never stayed consistent or made small strategic moves in the past.
Let’s say you are working with and advisor and still feel this way, then the truth is you are working with the wrong advisor. You most likely ended up with that advisor based on cost and lack of knowing what other forms of advice are out there. Investors seeking a top tier level of customization, receiving effective advice on highlighting your own financial blind spots, and having all of this at a fair price. Should be working with a 100% Independent Advisor through an RIA (Registered Investment Advisor).
Tactical Wealth Planning - The Founding
The 100% Independent RIA firm, Tactical Wealth Planning LLC, was founded after a decade of experience working for big box firms that many invest with, and being confined to traditional advice and solutions for the average person. I was tired of not being able to provide customized investment and planning solutions, all while not having adaptability in fee structure.
I saw a real opportunity to help investors think more strategically and with purpose when it comes to their investments to help them down their own path of consistent success. Like mentioned earlier, it sometimes takes small, calculated moves to accomplish, that too often is missed with generic blanketed advice.
I bring my passion of helping people in difficult situations, rooted from my experience as a 911 Paramedic for the past 12 years, to the approach of financial planning not typically seen from most advisors. Life is too unpredictable and too short to not be tactical in your approach with finances. I will help you grow your wealth and enjoy your time with your family in a way you may not have thought possible, through Tactical Wealth Planning.
